Dietitian AND Lactation CONSULTANT
Providing families with support and information on breastfeeding, formula feeding and solid foods to ensure adequate nutrition for all babies
HI THERE
i'm Lizelle,
a Registered Dietitian and Lactation Consultant working in Kimberley, Northern Cape. I am currently practising in the Neonatology unit and Neonatal ICU in Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe hospital, where I get to help hundreds of mothers lay a solid foundation for growth by getting breastfeeding established.
Breastfeeding can be such a rewarding journey, but it does not always happen without challenges. It's important for moms to know that they're not alone and there is always someone to help them
My goal is to help families establish feeding practices during childhood that will foster healthy eating behaviour later in life. Every mother and baby’s journey looks different and I can assist with all things nutrition: from pregnancy to breastfeeding or formula feeding to weaning onto solid foods.
I'M HERE TO support YOU FROM THE MOMENT YOU DECIDE TO breastfeed AND BEYOND
Breastfeeding preparation classes
In-hospital breastfeeding support after birth
In-office visits for growth monitoring of babies
In-office visits for management of breastfeeding struggles
In-office visits to discuss introduction of solids
Breastfeeding support at home (only on exception)
On the day that a baby is delivered, not only is a baby born, but also a Mother, who requires just as much support and encouragement to grow into her new role.

“Imagine how intense hunger must feel when you’ve only ever known complete satisfaction…
Imagine how lonely a crib must feel when you have only ever experienced the cramped tight embrace of your Mama’s womb…
Imagine how deafening silence must be when you have never not heard the beating of your Mama’s heart…
Let’s all have grace and patience for the babies as they adapt to life in the big wide world. These first few months should not be a race to be separated as soon as possible. This season too shall pass”
